"Lady Louise, Adventures at the North Pole" is a companion book to the series. It can be read as a "stand-alone" book by children and adults. When Lady Louise is called upon to assist Mrs. Claus and the elves in making gifts for rescued pets and shelter animals, she faces a difficult, last-minute decision to help a newly adopted dog. This book has a strong message about animal rescue and giving.

The "Lady Louise" Book Series follows the adventures of a world-traveling poodle who seeks to impart manners and kindness to children and adults. The character is based on a "real Louise," who was rescued after living in four places. She found her "furever" home with writer Karen Petit.

I am extremely proud and honored to share my latest book with you. When the joyful dog Dixie loses Kathy, her Mother, she must deal with unexpected questions, loss and sadness. She learns about Heaven from her sisters and finds hope in knowing that one day she will see her Mother again and that they will be "Together in Heaven." The book is inspired by the author's own family tragedy.
Artist Abby Mehan created the beautiful illustrations that capture Dixie and Kathy's touching story.
